Loaded Crescent Bites
Now that football season is back in full swing, let’s talk tailgating food. When it comes to game day apps, we all love the standard chips and dip, right? But sometimes it’s nice to include something a little more substantial that makes it look like you make a real effort (when really you didn’t!)
This Loaded Crescent Bites are the perfect app for the Big Game – or for any occassion for that matter!
By using crescent dinner rolls, these are super easy to make and taste delicious. Loaded with potatoes, cheese, bacon bits and of course sour cream, both kids and adults alike will be devouring them!
They are quick to make but look pretty darn cute and fancy. While I’m suggesting to serve them as an app for watching the Sunday game, how about serving them as a hor d’oeuvres at a dinner party or appetizers for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner?
Ingredients
1 Bag backyard grilled potatoes (thawed)
¼ Cup finely chopped cheddar cheese
½ Cup cooked bacon bits
3 Tbsp milk
1 Can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1/3 Cup sour cream
2 Tbsps chopped parsley
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line 2 baking sheets with foil and grease with cooking spray.
Mash potatoes, but leave in chunky bits.
Mix in cheese, bacon bits and the milk.
Unroll dough onto cutting board and press into 14×8-inch rectangle.
Firmly press perforations to seal.
Spread mixture evenly across crescent rolls and tightly roll up dough.
Press to seal. Cut into 14 slices.
Place slices cut side up onto greased baking sheets.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
Leave to cool for 5 minutes and then top each slice with sour cream. Serve and enjoy.
Tip
Top up with any remaining bacon bits or green onions.
